Success Story
Smart AV supports healthcare processes at Reinier de Graaf Hospital
Technology that supports staff and patients.
At Reinier de Graaf Hospital, providing welcoming, high-quality care is at the heart of everything they do. Audiovisual technology needs to support this by making communication as easy as possible for both staff and patients.
AVEX equipped a range of spaces throughout the hospital with modern audiovisual solutions. From video conferencing and presentation displays to digital signage and camera systems.
Together, these solutions support essential healthcare processes and help ensure clear and effective communication.
The challenge
Effective communication across different healthcare environments
Within a hospital, audiovisual technology is used for a wide variety of purposes.
Colleagues meet for consultations and presentations, doctors use video conferencing to collaborate with specialists at other locations, and medical images and patient information need to be displayed clearly.
At the same time, staff need access to up-to-date information on areas such as logistics, planning and medication.
Communication is equally important for patients and visitors. In waiting and hospitality areas, information needs to be accessible and contribute to a welcoming environment.
The solution
Audiovisual technology designed around care, collaboration and communication
AVEX implemented a range of audiovisual solutions throughout Reinier de Graaf Hospital.
Meeting and training rooms were equipped with 55-inch and 65-inch presentation displays for content including medical images and patient information. Video conferencing also enables doctors to consult colleagues and specialists at other locations.
Digital information displays provide staff with up-to-date information on logistics, planning and medication 24 hours a day. Digital signage is also used to communicate with patients and visitors in waiting and hospitality areas.
The hospital’s event space was also equipped with audiovisual technology. Used for conferences, presentations and church services, the space can be divided into two or three separate rooms. The AV systems were designed to support this flexibility.
Healthcare Communication & Digital Signage
Meetings & Collaboration
Video conferencing, audiovisual meeting rooms and intuitive controls make collaboration simple and efficient.
Presentations & Events
Flexible AV solutions for presentation and event spaces, including projection and professional audio.
Video Capture & Broadcast
Camera systems and IPTV enable events such as church services to be recorded and broadcast live.
The result
A user-friendly AV environment for healthcare and communication
The audiovisual solutions support staff with consultations, presentations and the exchange of information, while also improving communication with patients and visitors.
Medical images and patient information can be displayed clearly, while video conferencing enables doctors to collaborate with colleagues and specialists at other locations.
Patients also benefit directly from the AV facilities. Digital signage provides information in waiting and hospitality areas, while church services can be broadcast live via IPTV, allowing patients to watch from their hospital rooms.
Ease of use was a key consideration throughout. Crestron touch panels with clear controls make the systems straightforward for staff to operate.
“We wanted to create a welcoming space for patients and visitors while also providing a pleasant working environment for our staff. The new presentation displays are a major improvement. The image quality is significantly better, and the purpose-built video conferencing rooms are also working extremely well.” Francien van Gastel Team Leader Service Desk ICT & Information Services
