VOLVO Trucks Ghent: an innovative working environment with smart audiovisual solutions

VOLVO Trucks Ghent is one of Volvo Trucks’ most important production sites in Europe. It combines a rich industrial history with modern facilities and technology. The site provides an inspiring environment for production, collaboration and innovation, where new ideas can be put into practice immediately. Thanks to a carefully considered design and smart audiovisual solutions, the location is fully equipped for both day-to-day operations and special events.

Modern renovated building with glass façade

Upon entering the new site, the renovated VOLVO Trucks building in Ghent immediately stands out with its fully glazed façade, giving it a modern and fresh appearance. The project team created multiple meeting rooms in various sizes, suitable for both small meetings and larger team sessions. The auditorium is a standout feature, with a huge LED wall. Installing it was a technical challenge for AVEX because it had to be mounted on the glass wall.

In addition, the entrance features a dedicated VIP building, where job interviews are held, among other activities. Customers collecting their new electric trucks also receive their keys here, while their truck is charging outside the building. Thanks to smart audiovisual solutions, the VIP building is fully equipped for collaboration, presentations and special occasions.

Auditorium LED wall

The VOLVO Trucks Ghent auditorium is located behind the impressive glass façade and is a real eye-catcher. The large LED wall, installed by AVEX, presented a technical challenge because the team had to mount it on the glass wall. Thanks to smart audiovisual integration, the auditorium provides a flexible and dynamic space for presentations, product launches, workshops and internal events. The result is a multifunctional environment where image and sound come together seamlessly, creating an impressive and professional experience for both employees and visitors.

Glass-enclosed 8-person meeting room

On the first floor is a beautiful, centrally located meeting room surrounded entirely by glass walls. This provides spectacular views of the large LED wall in the auditorium and of the first and last VOLVO trucks displayed in the central hall. The transparent walls create an open and inspiring atmosphere for meetings and brainstorming sessions. Thanks to smart audiovisual solutions, the meeting room is fully equipped for presentations, video conferences and interactive sessions, making it an ideal space for internal collaboration and important customer meetings.

VIP building

VOLVO Trucks Ghent designed the VIP building as a representative and multifunctional space. The team uses this space for job interviews, while customers collecting their new electric trucks receive their keys as their vehicle charges outside. Moreover, the interior is designed around comfort and functionality, with spaces that support both formal and informal gatherings. Thanks to smart audiovisual solutions, presentations, demonstrations and events can take place seamlessly. The VIP building combines elegance with technological innovation and plays a central role in both internal collaboration and the customer experience.

Easy maintenance with LeGrand drawers

AVEX designed all audiovisual solutions at VOLVO Trucks Ghent with ease of maintenance in mind. The installation includes LeGrand drawers that provide easy access to components and cables for inspection, maintenance and upgrades. This smart layout enables technical teams to make adjustments quickly and efficiently without disrupting major installations or presentations. This contributes to the reliability and long service life of the AV solutions in the auditorium, meeting rooms and VIP building.
