What is a Quarta table? Focus on each other

A boardroom is a place for important conversations and decisions. It should keep people focused on each other. Yet large displays, visible cameras and loose equipment can easily become a distraction, particularly during hybrid meetings.

The AVEX Quarta table turns that around. Audiovisual technology is fully integrated into the boardroom table, supporting the meeting without demanding attention. So the focus stays where it belongs: on each other.

What is a Quarta table?

Quarta is an exclusive boardroom table with integrated audiovisual technology. Displays, cameras, microphones and controls are incorporated into the design of the table. The technology is there when you need it and remains out of sight as much as possible when you don’t.

Displays can be integrated beneath the glass tabletop, allowing participants to view presentations, documents and remote participants. Cameras automatically rise from the table when a video meeting starts and disappear from view again afterwards.

The result is a boardroom where design, audiovisual technology and ease of use come together as one.

Why integrate technology into a boardroom table?

When designing a boardroom, a great deal of attention goes into the interior, acoustics, lighting and furniture. Audiovisual technology is sometimes added later in the design process. As a result, displays, cameras, cables and control panels can become highly visible in a space that should convey calm and quality.

This can also affect the meeting experience. Common challenges include:

  • participants constantly looking towards a large display on the wall;
  • less natural eye contact during hybrid meetings;
  • visible cameras, cables and equipment on or around the table;
  • a boardroom that works technically but does not complement the interior;
  • different systems and controls across meeting rooms;
  • unnecessarily complex controls for users.

Quarta reverses this approach. Technology is not added to the room afterwards, but considered part of the design from the outset.

How does a Quarta boardroom table work?

A Quarta setup is designed specifically around the room, the number of users and the way an organisation meets. Various audiovisual technologies can be integrated directly into the table.

Displays integrated into the meeting table

Rather than relying solely on a large display on the wall, participants have content directly in front of them. Displays are integrated beneath the tabletop, keeping presentations, documents and remote participants clearly visible without forcing everyone to constantly look away from the other people around the table.

This makes Quarta particularly suitable for boardrooms where presentations and documents are regularly discussed or where hybrid meetings are common.

Cameras that automatically rise from the table

Cameras can also be fully integrated into the Quarta table. When a video meeting starts, the cameras automatically rise from the table. Once the meeting has finished, they disappear from view again.

Positioning the cameras close to participants also helps bring remote participants into the conversation more naturally. A hybrid meeting feels less like part of the group is talking to a screen and more like everyone is taking part in the same conversation.

Easy access to Microsoft Teams meetings

A premium boardroom should not only look good, but above all be easy to use. Quarta can therefore be combined with Microsoft Teams Rooms.

With One Touch Join, a scheduled meeting can be started at the touch of a button. Users do not need to connect cables or adjust settings first. The audiovisual system, cameras, displays and controls work together as one integrated solution.

Audio integrated into the design

Clear speech intelligibility is essential in a boardroom, particularly when participants are joining remotely. That is why the design considers not only video, but also professional audio. Microphones and loudspeakers are tailored to the room and integrated into the overall design wherever possible.

A fully bespoke boardroom table

No two boardrooms are the same. Quarta is therefore not a standard table that is simply placed in a room. The solution is configured around factors including the number of participants, the dimensions of the room, the interior and the required audiovisual functionality.

From a compact executive meeting room to an international boardroom for more than 32 people, the size, materials, finish and technical configuration can all be tailored to the environment.

What is the difference between Quarta and a traditional boardroom?

In a traditional boardroom, the table and audiovisual system are often designed as separate elements. A large display is mounted on the wall, cameras are positioned around the screen, and connections and controls are added to the table later.

With Quarta, furniture, technology and user experience are designed as one integrated solution. This allows more technology to remain out of sight, keeping the focus on the people around the table.

The difference is therefore not simply in the equipment, but in the way the complete meeting environment is designed.

What are the benefits of a boardroom table with integrated technology?

Organisations choosing Quarta are usually looking for more than simply a new meeting table. They want to create a boardroom that reflects their organisation while also providing an intuitive experience for the people who use it every day.

A Quarta boardroom can provide:

  • more natural eye contact by displaying content closer to participants;
  • less visible technology by integrating displays, cameras and other components into the design;
  • a professional and representative environment for executives, clients, partners and other stakeholders;
  • simpler hybrid meetings with an integrated video conferencing solution;
  • less loose equipment and cabling on and around the table;
  • a consistent user experience by designing technology and controls as one system;
  • a bespoke solution tailored to the interior, room and way people meet.

Which spaces is Quarta suitable for?

Quarta is primarily designed for spaces where decision-making, communication and presentation come together. These include:

  • boardrooms;
  • executive meeting rooms;
  • management meeting rooms;
  • international meeting rooms;
  • hybrid executive and board meetings.

A fully integrated bespoke solution is not always necessary for a standard meeting room. Organisations looking to standardise multiple room types can also explore our other meeting room solutions.

Quarta as part of the modern boardroom

A good boardroom does not start with choosing a camera, display or meeting table. The most important question is how people will use the space.

How many people normally sit around the table? How often do remote participants join? Are presentations mainly shared, or do participants work through documents together? Which video conferencing platform does the organisation use? And what should the room communicate about your organisation?

Based on these requirements, the table layout, sightlines, displays, cameras, microphones, loudspeakers and controls can be designed as one complete environment. Quarta can form the centrepiece of this setup.

Quarta and Microsoft Teams Rooms

Quarta can be integrated with Microsoft Teams Rooms. This allows users to easily join scheduled Teams meetings and use the cameras, audio, displays and controls integrated into the boardroom.

With One Touch Join, a meeting can be started at the touch of a button. The most suitable configuration depends on the size of the boardroom, the number of participants and the way people want to collaborate.

From executive meeting room to large international boardroom

As Quarta is bespoke, there is no single standard size. The table can be designed for a compact executive meeting room or a large international boardroom accommodating more than 32 participants.

The design considers more than just the number of seats. Sightlines, camera framing, speech intelligibility, display positioning and sufficient space for comfortable meetings all play an important role.

More than just a meeting table

Although the table is the most visible element, Quarta is designed as an integrated boardroom solution. The table, audiovisual technology and controls are designed together as one system.

This sets Quarta apart from a conventional meeting table where audiovisual equipment is added later. With Quarta, technology forms part of the room design from the very beginning.

A boardroom where the conversation comes first

The best technology is not necessarily the technology you notice most. In a boardroom, technology should primarily help people communicate more effectively.

Quarta therefore brings boardroom design and audiovisual technology together in one integrated solution. Displays are available where participants need them, cameras appear when a hybrid meeting begins, and controls remain simple.

So the focus stays where it belongs: on the conversation and the people around the table.
